The JD team consists of Jayne, who is the Radio Plugger and Darran who acts as Consultant Advisor.

Darran is a musician, songwriter and music producer with many years experience of the music industry having been a member of rock band Funeral for a Friend for 10 years. During Darran’s time with FFAF. The band’s first three albums went Gold in the UK (100,000 sales) with their third album ‘Tales Don’t Tell themselves’ reaching No. 3 in the UK album chart. Darran has played the main stages of festivals such as Leeds/Reading and Download, toured the U.S. with the likes of Avenged Sevenfold, and supported Linkin Park throughout their US tour in 2004.
Paradiddles, Plectrums and Posers
“PP&P, as it’s affectionately known, was borne out of tragedy. I lost 3 friends, the oldest being only 40, in a matter of 11 months all in shocking circumstances (one to suicide, one alcohol related and one road traffic accident), I also lost my 3 cats, and then underwent a biopsy and cancer scare. All of that in the space of 2 years, between October 2009 and October 2011, left me in a very black place.
Having spent years surrounded by musicians, the idea for PP&P seemed an obvious one and the name popped into my head seemingly out of nowhere. PP&P went ‘live’ in December 2011. I wanted to make it stand out from the crowd, so I set about getting endorsements for the site from music industry insiders. I had met Anthrax’s Joey Belladonna many years ago and had stayed friends with his wife, and so he was one of the first to give an endorsement, followed closely by other musicians, producers, promoters, a rock journalist and even a Grammy award winning songwriter!
I worked more closely with some of the bands, the ones who were local to me, and gained them radio airplay and also got them featured in a UK based rock magazine, all of which I did for the love of it.
The bands do not pay anything to be featured and I don’t have sponsors or adverts on the site – it’s purely about the artists’ music. I do what I can to get the website noticed such as having press releases printed in local papers and it does well for an audience. I am proud of the website and particularly of the comments on the ‘Comments’ page from the bands/managers.
PP&P gave me a positive focus and helped me out of the black hole I was in.”
All the best,
JD Music Promotion
