BTD Radio Interviews, The Lord of Lightning
BTD Radio presents…The Lord of Lightning! Welcome to the studio!
Hi there The Lord of Lightning, could you tell our listeners where you are from?
The Lord of Lightning: I am from Chicago Illinois.
Oh do I love a sexy guitar and you sure do play a sexy mean guitar. How long have you been playing? What was your first guitar? Did you pick up the guitar right way? Do you play any other instruments?
The Lord of Lightning: I have been playing guitar for many years. I just came back to Chicago from Ghana Africa for one year. My first guitar was a Les Paul copy,Black Beauty. Well I could not play it right away. I was terrible and I could not play. It was foolish to buy an electric guitar first. The strings tore my fingers up. I should have bought an acoustic guitar first thats much easier to learn on.It took me six months to learn how to tune it. I was tone deaf. However I was am very determined. Actually, I can play several instruments.
I just love your artist name, how did you come up with the name?
The Lord of Lightning: The name came to me in a dream. I woke up and heard a voice. It said I dub thee The Lord of Lightning.
Could you tell us about your hot, sizzling new single “Love Aint A Guarantee?
The Lord of Lightning: Love Aint A Guarantee, is a song I wrote when I lived in Switerland. It was about a girl whom I loved dearly.
So how many guitars does a great guitar player like yourself have?
The Lord of Lightning: At present I own 2 guitars. One acoustic and the Batacaster electric guitar which I made.Thats the one on the record. It can sound like several different guitars. One tone is a Stractocaster, Sivertone, Gibson and many others. On that record I used The Fire tone, Super Halo tone,Stratocaster tone and Pineapple tones. This guitar would make Leo Fender turn over in his grave and make Gibson look for another son. It gives me the Thundersound. Also its a Super G-Pimp which means a guitar thats all pimped out!
Let’s talk about your song writing. How does this process start for you?
The Lord of Lightning: The song writing process aways starts from the inspiration of a woman.Without a woman I would not be here.
What is Rainbow rock? How would you describe it?
The Lord of Lightning: The Rainbow Rock is one form of the new sound. Thats is a mixture of Rock,Funk,Blues,African Grooves. Its origin is derived from the Electro Dynamic Linear Space Music and the Space Wave Sound which I have created. WOW………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….
I see George Clinton ask you to go on tour with him that must have made your boat float. How did you feel when you heard that?
The Lord of Lightning: I was back stage with George Clinton at a concert of his in Switzerland. I had met George previously on the streets of London six months before.I had given him an album that I was on which was not promoted. So when he met me again I was suprised with that gesture. James Brown invented Funk. Sly Stone pioneered FunkRock.Geoge Clinton took over after him with a heavier guitar influence more instruments and musicians. I met James before he died. What a Legend. He started the whole thing and many other things too. A true genius!
We are going to ask you a few typical interview questions such as, who were your childhood influences and do you see a little bit of those influences in yourself while performing on stage?
The Lord of Lightning: I liked the Motown, Chicago, Memphis, Atlanta sound artists. Also I loved all of the great Rock & Blues guitarist. All of them. Plus those great Funk bands from the 70´s and 80´s. There are so many that influenced me.
It’s another day in the studio and you invite me to tag along. What would I see?
The Lord of Lightning: You would see me trying to make things happen. The studio is a sacred place. Thats where the magic happens or not!
