BTR RADIO would like to congratulate Joy Hollon as the December Artist of the Month. A voice filled with beauty and spirit. Joy was raised on the piano but also plays other instruments such as the guitar. She loves to harmony and intricate vocal work.
We will let Joy you about herself, hit it Joy!
I’m a singer/songwriter/musician from southwest Ohio. I’ve performed in various bands and solo for over half my life. I spent several years giggin’ out with ‘Hot Cargo’ in the mid-’90s and then again in ’06 – ’09. Since then, I’ve also played with local pop-cover band ‘4 Now’ and retro-rock original band ‘Drift’. I even rocked the early ’90s with a Dayton garage band called ‘Therica’. Currently, I’m with local progressive rock cover band ‘Funster’ and playing for fun. \m/ I also play solo acoustic occasionally, where I perform most of my originals – although a few of my songs have made their way into the bands’ set lists, as well. I’ve always kept a focus on my own music along the way and recorded/produced my first original CD in 2010 called “Peace ~ Joy ~ Music”
Tell us about your beautiful song, ‘Quiet Time – A Winter’s Dream.”
This is a track written as a collaboration between me and Jacki Wheeler. The music is hers, the lyrics and slight re-working of the original music track is mine. We have put our creative visions together to create “Quiet Time – A Winter’s Dream” It is purposefully not religious or centered on the holidays, but more on winter, finding peace and cherishing memories with children during these times. I have a YouTube video I filmed, edit and produced for the track as well: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SL6ATo2vQFU
And where can our listeners find your music?
